- 750gBeef mince
- 800gCrushed tomatoes
- 2largeOnion
- 4clovesGarlic
- 60gButter
- 1/3cupFlour
- 3cupsMilk
- 2cupsMozzarella cheese
- 1/2cupParmesan cheese

Make the ragu: brown beef mince with diced onion and garlic. Add crushed tomatoes, a splash of red wine, oregano, and bay leaf. Simmer for 30 minutes.

Make bechamel: melt butter, stir in flour, cook 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk and cook until thickened. Season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper.

Preheat oven to 180C.

Spread a layer of ragu in a baking dish, then a layer of lasagna sheets, then bechamel. Repeat layers 3 times.

Finish with a layer of bechamel and top generously with mozzarella and Parmesan.

Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove foil and bake another 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
